Boston Fashion Week

As all the "real" fashion weeks wrap up from NY to Paris, the fashion comes to Boston!

On Thursday Sam and I went to check out the BFW event at Salon Capri on Newbury St, where they were offering wine and macaroons from Miam Miam Macaronerie, as well as hair, skin, makeup and eyebrow services.

Sam and I excitedly took part in each one!

After being fluffed and buffed and feeling beautiful, we decided we had to bring our new look around town, so we skipped off to meet Maura and Mitch at the Salty Pig.

This is the place to go in Boston for a good charcuterie board, but this time we opted for their delicious flatbreads. First we started by splitting the octopus, which was cooked perfectly and came with a really yummy bean salad (I got excited and cut a piece before stopping everyone to take a picture).

Then we got a couple flatbreads. Sam and I split one smothered in prosciutto, mortadella, arugula and one freshly cracked egg. Delicious!

Mitch got the pork sampler, which you cannot go wrong with at the Salty Pig.

All washed down with some chilled pink wine.

For our second night of fashion, Maura and I hit up the Algonquin Club in Back Bay for a fashion show by designer Firas Yousif, who has his own custom couture bridal shop on Newbury Street. The Algonquin Club is a 21st century members only institution on Commonwealth Ave, very fancy and elegant.

Even the bathrooms are fancy, so I had to take a selfie.

His formal wear dresses weren't my cup of tea (chartreuse never is, and there was a lot of silver amd chartreuse creations)...

But his bridal line is very pretty and princess-y.

After the show, we headed back to Maura's house near Fenway to drink a bit more champagne and indulge in more wedding fashion via Say Yes to the Dress. Maura is definitely my go-to wedding friend! We spent the rest of the night sipping bubbles and being silly and girlie.

Can't wait for BFW to come back around next year!
