The Fat Cat

We continued Geoff's birthday festivities this week by getting dinner at the Fat Cat in Quincy, MA.

This place is always absolutely packed. We've gone several times and turned around because the line was out the door, and the bar is too narrow to comfortably wait for a table there. That is unless you're lucky enough to get a seat at the bar (which sometimes involves awkwardly hovering over the people who look closest to being done eating their dinner at the bar, you gotta do what you gotta do!)

We wouldn't even bother going there after 6 on a weekend, so we figured we'd be safe in the middle of the week. Nope! We we're lucky enough to get a seat at the bar fairly quickly, but a table was 30 mins plus.

Luckily the wait was worth it. We started with the wings- which seemed to be a very popular choice. They have a ton of different flavors, with different heat levels. As you know I like it hot hot hot, so we got the Blackened Hot wings. They had some nice heat and the sauce was bomb.

Now this is a birthday so obviously calories do not count. Literally every other person at the bar ordered the wings, and followed it up with a platter of this baked mac and cheese the size of a pool float. So of course we followed suit.

Cheesy, gooey, creamy, crunchy DELICIOUSNESS. I could barely snap a photo before we shoveled the whole thing down.

We washed it all down with several pints of pumpkin beers of course.

After this meal we were happy as a bunch of fat cats!

Lastly, I am by no means a fashion blogger, but what do you think of the faux fur vest I was rocking? Full disclosure- I bought this at Target for less than $30. I'd been jealously eyeing these furry little numbers on other fashionable ladies, and was waiting until I found one that wasn't too ostentatious. I kind of love it!

And I'm also documenting the hair, which is the result of a genius little machine- the clamp-less tapered curling iron. I had so much fun with this thing, despite the few burns on my little fingies that I acquired while trying to figure it out- but my hair has never been so full of secrets! By the way you may have noticed- it is now brown! No more blond for me. I know I'm zapping it with a ton of heat, but the decision was made so my hair could return to it's healthy sheen. The bleach was really frying my ends, and I figure a return to a more natural tone would allow it to thicken back up since it needs wayyy less time in between dyes (I am naturally an ashy light brown).

What do you think? Any fun birthday stories of your own?
